PLEEPLEUS!!!!!

OMG, a real celebrity came over to our Two Knit Monkey site! He is the well known host of Three Sheets co-hosted by Zane Lamprey. What an honor it is to have him in our neck of the woods!
We had to have a welcoming shot taken before the festivities begin. We are going to show him the drinking traditions in the Gray household.
First off we introduced him to what is known as 'domestic beer'. Normally a better caliber of brew is in the house but when Pleepleus shows up you gotta give him the goods on hand!
After a few of the 'domestics' we introduced him to the tradition of socks on the heads. While playing a functional role of keeping our heads warm they look totally awesome. Please don't let him know he was wearing a baby sock. He oddly got VERY defensive by this so we convinced him Jen (our creator) shrunk the sock in the dryer....... (sorry Jen)
Then we lost Pleepleus for a while in the liquor cabinet. He came back smelling like tequilla but he was in a fantastic mood. To finish off the evening he helped Brian finish off his Juicy adult beverage.
We all had a great night. Pleepleus is currently sleeping it off in the executive suites. I wonder if he will ever get up again!

Jen's in the kitchen

When Jen came home from going out to lunch with grand-crator (aka, Jen's mom) she went straight to the kitchen. How strange she was in there after just going out to eat! She quickly came out and gave us all of these stickers to play with. AWESOME!!!!!
Then she let us out on the sunporch to play. What is going on with her today? But who are we to complain. Guillermo decided to hang around upside down for a while.
I was chilling out and tending to the new plants. I like to talk to the plants and encourage them to grow. Hopefully all of the plants will be strong and healthy. I ....... wait a second..........
We have been out here playing for quite a while.......

Jen is nowhere is sight......

I wonder what she is up to, lets go check it out!

OMG MANGO/PASSION FRUIT SANGRIA!!!!!!!!!!

Monkey Approved!!!!! Just don't tell her we tried it out.....
For making up the recipe it was delish! I hope she makes it again!

OMG Banana Bread Beer!!!!!

Look what we found in the fridge!!!!!
Jen, Brian pleeeeeaaaaassssseeee.  Can the minkees share this one?
Alright guys.  Just make sure you don't get any froth on your muzzles.  Enjoy!
Wow, that actually tastes like banana bread.  There is even a hint of nuttiness.  Mmmmm, thats some good beer.  We do not recommend it for humans unless they REALLY like bananas.  It can be a bit overpowering at times.

Hope this doesn't turn us into drunk little monkeys.  hee hee hee.

Martinis and Manicures

We are ready for our spa treatments Jen!
I would like a mini facial and a massage please.
I would like an ear rub, eyebrow wax and a pedicure.  Whatever those are!?!
What do you mean your girls night out at Martinis and Manicures didn't teach you how to provide those services?  You got them instead.  You must feel like a very pampered person.  Hope you enjoyed it, but can we still have an ear rub?  P L E A S E . . . . .

Best Christmas Present EVER... KNIT BEER!!!!

Jen is turning into quite the little knitter.  This year for Christmas she knit her pops the only thing he would ever want knit.... a beer!  He looks pleasantly surprised, doesn't he!  Her da is going to take it to work and sit it on his desk since there are 'rules' about drinking at work.  Kent is going to be sooo jealous!  (and yes it was packaged in a brown paper sack!)
Being a minkee blog we had to pose with the beer.
And Jen had to drink the beer.
And Bernardo joined in the fun!
We better stop G-mo before he gets wasted.....
I wonder if Jen can knit a few minkee sized brews for us.....

Adult Content... View at your own risk

I am in no way surprised to come home to find this waiting for me on the couch:

See, in honor of our 200th post  (actually due to some pilling issues, and yarn thinning)  I am in the process of recreating the dynamic duo.  I planned on working on them tonight, but I jammed my right pinky finger and am having a hard time typing, let alone knitting.

A bit of trivia for you.  If you look at older posts of Guillermo, he is different even from this Guillermo.  He is now in his third version.  See, I made them when I was a new knitter and didn't know how to knit very well (let alone piece an animal together).  Now with all this practice I have gotten much better.  I will be curious to see if you can tell the difference once the upgrades are complete.

By the way, notice how much longer the yarn for Bernardo is?!?  I am sure G-Mo noticed as well.....

Golden Monkey

You asked for it folks, photos of the two of us enjoying adult beverages.  This particular one is a hearty brew called Golden Monkey.  Yes ladies and gents, they named a beer after us!  It is quite tasty, but there is one problem.  It has 11.4% alcohol.  After a few sips we started to feel a little funny.  I think we'll give the rest to Jen and Brian.  We have to be wide awake when our show comes on tonight.  We love us some Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.  Do you know why we love it so much?  It isn't the host (who has really funny hair).  It isn't the restaurants.  It is the fact that periodically throughout the show they "PUT SOME SAUCE ON IT!!!!!!!!"  We really don't get out much, its the little things in life that make us happy.

As a side note, do you see the ball of yarn by G-mo's butt?  Do you think that would make a nice new scarf for a monkey?  Maybe Santa can make a monkey one for Christmas?  Or, should we keep our same old scarves?  Just putting out the feelers.

Friday Foto Finish 9.05

This week our entry for Candid Carries Fx4 is this little number.  I took this photo a long time ago.  That's me with the very nice plush pants, Guillermo butt in air (probably floating an air biscuit) Bernardo passed out from the odor and the fruity drink my hubby was a chuggin'.  (a lot of our photos involve alcohol somewhere in the photos with the minkees.  I never know if I should post them.  Makes us look like heavy drinkers.)   I just love this pic and have yet to use it.  Thanks to Carrie, I now have a reason!  If you look closely you can see the piercings G-mo has from an earlier post.

Initially I wanted to do a photo of me and the boyz in matching hats, but I had to settle for this number.  I couldn't find Bernardo's hat to post today, so hopefully it will air next week.  The pic of me is rather funny.  Yes ladies and gents, next week will be a rare glimpse of the one the minkees call creator.  Come back to quell your curiosity.

Home Alone

Well, Jen and Brian left for vacation so we did what we felt was necessary.  We donned some undies, hopped on the couch and grabbed the remote.  Bernardo is on a recon mission to get some beer from the fridge.  I hope he has the arm strength to get it open.
Well, that was a wash.  That fridge door was too hard to open.  We'll have to make do without any.  Lets see if there are any R rated movies on that we normally don't get to watch.....
What was that sound?!?  Is that the garage door opening?!?  They aren't gone yet.  Hide the Cheetos!  Get out of these undies before Brian sees us and makes fun....  "Oh, hello Jen....  What are we doing?  Um, just hanging out.  We thought you were gone...... Oh, you don't leave until Monday.....  We get to go with you on vacation!  Awesome!"

***Since we will be in town tomorrow, we are still taking entries for our Sunday Special Segment Series of Ask A Monkey.  See the right sidebar for details.***

Laundry Day Fashion Show

I'm Guillermo and you know what I mean when I do my little turn on the catwalk. On the catwalk. I do my little turn on the catwalk..... I'm too sexy for my shirt, to sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts......

What better to do on laundry day than to have a fashion show.  Bernardo acted as the designer and I was the muse.  Here are the highlights of our show:

Here we have Guillermo donning a fantastically yellow frock.  The sunflower color compliments his mocha complexion.

Hello Gandhi.  This little number is inspired by a Sari.  It is hard to make it look right on a tiny minkee though, not enough places to wrap.....

We call this little number pious minkee.  Check out the intricate crochet neck work.  Move over Pope, we have someone new in charge!  I'm going to throw out those 10 commandments and put some minkee rules in place!

After the fashion show, the designer came out to show his collection to the world.  Look for it in stores soon.  We're headed off for the after party.  Hey, wheres the champagne?  JEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNN, Can we have Mimosas?!?

Field Trippin' to RIBCO

Bernardo here...  Since we had to get out of the house again today while the new carpet is being installed, we went with Jen down to RIBCO (The Rock Island Brewing COmpany) for lunch.  Well, we didn't eat, just ran around and played.  It was a lot of fun, the bartender Amanda (click at your own risk) was very nice to us, when Jen wasn't looking, she let us have some of that tasty brew they have.

Since we are classy minkees, we hung out on the top shelf of the cooler.  Don't worry ladies and gents the beers were still corked so we didn't get them all germy, or did we.  My personal favorite is the Chimay on my left.  Guillermo likes the Delirium.  He said the last time he drank some he actually saw the pink elephant.  I think he was just a little drunk.  That stuff packs a punch!  Just like my photo!
I decided to make some crank phone calls on the beer phone.  Hello, I'd like to speak to I. M. a Wiener...  Hee Hee.  Only problem was the beer phone is not connected to anything but beer. But it was fun watching Guillermo try to make some calls.  He's such a silly little minkee.
When someone went to pay their tab, we went into action.  That right Terry, we're in your cash register!!!  It was a little hard to count out the change, no opposable thumbs and all, but we managed.  We even got a tip!  Pretty sweet, we didn't even have our bar tending outfits on!  And John, watch out for the present we left you when you count the drawer tonight.
Since Jen was taking too long to eat her lunch, we headed over to 2nd Avenue to play some more.  Here we are being Mix Master Monkeys!  There was a local band by that name a while ago, don't know if they are still around.  Great name for a band.  Anyway, I rocked out to the Beastie Boys and Guillermo danced his little heart out.  I tried to scratch and mix it up, but I think I ruined the record.  Sorry, Jen will get you a new one.
Before we headed out, we had one last thing to do......  Good thing we didn't get caught!  It was like a beer faucet, pretty awesome if you ask me.  However, Guillermo doesn't look so well now, kinda green.  You would think he learned from the last time.
What a fun day!  We will have to come back.  Amanda agreed to monkeysit  us any time we need it.  I don't think we need to be watched, well at least I don't.  Maybe we will come back next week for the Travoltas.....

Adult Beverages

On Jen's other blog she posted some tasty liquid summer refreshments that we though we should give a try.  I am partaking in a Raspberry Margarita Sorbet.  It is quite tasty!  Be careful, there are seeds.  They get stuck in my little monkey teeth.

Guillermo is drinking one of Jen's moms summertime favorite, Lime Slush.  It is quite thirst quenching.  A bit tarty, a bit tangy, and a whole lot of deliciousness.

Well, that was tasty!

Yes, this one was pretty good too.   What should we do now?

ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!  Wake us up of up for Diners Drive-in and Dives!  Put some sauce on it......
