Guillermo's in the kitchen

Guillermo Gray here. I am in the monkey test kitchen once again cooking up some viddles. This week I am making a delicious Mocha Monkey Bread from a kit Jen got at Target.

Looking at the ingredients I noticed that there are Mocha chips inside of the mix. MOCHA CHIPS!!!! THEY MAKE MOCHA CHIPS!!!!!

Sorry, I got a little excited.....

We mixed the dry ingredients with 1 cup of water.

Once the batter was made we rolled the dough into little balls and coated them in sugar. Look at the deliciousness.

We then dropped the batter balls into a buttered round pan. Can you see the mocha chips in there?
Then we added butter and baked. It was the perfect way to spend the day. I just love cooking in the kitchen!

Jen here. By we Guillermo meant Jen. This is the actual way that Guillermo 'helped' in the kitchen.....

Ahh.... We're back

We have been away at a Spa vacation.  We had all kinds of relaxing treatments to make us nice and tight.  There was the seaweed body wrap to shrink our tummies, a little Botox around the muzzles and mud masks.  It was awesome.  We got used to a lot of pampering!

Thanks to our vacation I lost several ounces of excess fluff.  As an added bonus Jen made us some handsome summer scarves.  I think it makes me look fetching.
While away, I also got a tummy tuck and a butt lift.  I still have my round ampleness, but not quite so ample.  I really like my scarf too.  Maybe we can work on getting it untangled.

Hello there fella

While we were camera-less this past week Bernardo and I went on some travels and met this fine young fellow. He comes to us from the land of Morocco where our favorite Peace Corps volunteer is currently residing. N was not home when we stopped by, and we couldn't just leave him by the door. We decided to bring him home and put him in the mail. He should be in Morocco soon.

However before we let him leave we gave him quite the sendoff! He told us that the fez is the official hat of Morocco so we put Jen to work for us. She was nice enough (thanks Jen) to make us our own fez's so we could give him a proper sendoff. Good times were had by all. He will be missed.

On a side note, the new camera arrived today and it is sweet! We may have to have a fashion show later this week......

Are you sure about this?  I don't know if I am brave enough to leave the warm comfy goodness of the bed yet.  You are sure it is above zero today.....

Wow, it actually is in the double digits above zero today.  Kick booty!  The last few days we have stayed in the executive suites because the temperatures were in the negative and windchill up to -40.  No time for a minkee to be out, unless you are a snow minkee which we are not!  OK, let's get out of bed!
Maybe we can just wear Jen's sweater until we readjust to the apartment temperature....  Wait.....No....We're Cold.....Man she took her sweater back.....  I hope she doesn't notice I farted in it.....

While Jen's away the minkees play

Wow, we have had a busy week!  We found these fantabulous PJ's Jen's mom gave her and have had a hay day playing with them.  If you look closely they picture many of our kin!

We found them on Tuesday after the ringworm incident.  Guess what, she doesn't actually have it, just a really weird dry patch on her arm.  So when she gets home its cuddle time.
Anyway, back to Tuesday.....  We found these in the laundry and decided game on.  We played Army crawl in the legs and raced to see who could get out first.  Guillermo got stuck at one point.  He got scared (as usual) and I came to the rescue.  However, he insisted on luring me with his stink.....
Once out we decided to play around in her shirt.... of course, not while she was wearing it!  Did you know it has built in minkee holders?
We wish all shirts came with minkee holders!  That would be awesome.  We could be carted around all day barking orders.  Kick Ass!  Oops, sorry Jen..... Kick Butt!

Yesterday and today were filled with more of the same.  Good times, good times!  Unfortunately we are done playing for the week, she said she needed to wash them because they smell a little 'off'.  I wonder what she means?

Getting ready for the Holiday... Finally!

Well, the family is coming over tonight to Celebrate X-mas.  This year is all about togetherness instead of gifts.  Everyone is chipping in and fixing part of our non-traditional meal, then hang around and play games and chat.  It will be a really fun night.  Hopefully we will get to hang out downstairs and join in the festivities!  

By the way, do you like Jen's holiday cardigan?  I know she was planning on wearing it tonight, but maybe she'll let us instead!  "No, wait....  Jen please!!!  We just want to be festive......  Minkee nuts!  Fine, you can wear it."

Rainy day fun

With another icky day in the QC there is nothing to do but find something to play with indoors.  We were rooting through Jen's school bag when we came across these interesting things called Smencils.  If you don't know already Smencil means smelly pencils.

Jen has Rootbeer, Peppermint and Tropical Blast and they actually smell like what they say.  The Tropical Blast takes us back to our days in the jungle.  Good times, good times!  Oooh, I wonder if there would be a market for minkee scented pencils.  I could toot in one of the tubes!  They could call it a Stencil for Stinky pencil!  What do you think?!?

By the way, we looked at the forecast and even though it is supposed to rain all day the temp will get up to 51.  I wonder if we can have some sun porch time!  Were gonna go bother BG and see if he will let us.

***** Update*****

Well, Brian gave us permission to head on out to the sun porch to play but there seems to be a problem.  I guess Jen doesn't clean out there until spring and there are these things called 'Dust Bunnies' that make it their domain.  Brian said he can't guarantee that they won't attack while we're playing.  So, we are going to hang inside today and hoot it up.  Dust Bunnies sound like serious business!

Those were the days my friend... And Random thoughts

Back when Jen was in High School she was in a play called Life on the Bowery. In it she played a traveling minstrel who sang the introduction to both acts of the play. The song she sang was Those Were The Days and it has been going through her head all day. Being our creator we have this weird osmosis thing going on and it is also in our heads. So today we wanted to reminisce on this past summer when we could play on the sunporch......


Those were the days, my friend; We thought they'd never end; We'd sing and dance forever and a day; We'd live the life we'd choose; We'd fight and never lose; Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days.....
So here we sit, two knit monkeys looking out into the cold weather and realize how good we really have it. It may be cold out there, but it is warm in our hearts and we have our memories to help us make it through the cold. Plus, it gives us time to plan some fun adventures. It is that time of year you know. And Guillermo has Calvin's blueprints for his transmogrifier..... I wonder if Hobbs or I can talk some sense into them before something goes terribly wrong.....

Preperations

We need to start preparing for the upcoming cold weather!
Yesterday it was in the 70's, today the high is only 50 and tomorrow we are supposed to get snow. We are heading into Jen's sweater to wait out the weather until tomorrow night!

Hi Jen! What?!? You are wearing that sweater today! NOOOOOOO! We are all warm and snuggly. Please don't make us move..... FINE, we're going to go find Brian and he will hook us up with some warmy goodness! Jen can be such a butt head sometimes. :()

Friday Foto Finish 9.12

It's time again my faithful friends to talk of many things.  Of sealing wax.....  Wait, I just entered Wonderland for a moment.  What I wanted to do was enter Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Finish Fiesta. I have been meaning to post a lovely photo of my minkees and I wearing matching hats.  There's have White Stripes (not the band), mine is just black and brown.  There's came from the sock drawer, mine came from India.  It is surprisingly warm!

If you've ever been here before, you know how much my husband likes to leave the minkees in funny positions for me to find.  Here is the front view.

Friday Foto Finish 9.05

This week our entry for Candid Carries Fx4 is this little number.  I took this photo a long time ago.  That's me with the very nice plush pants, Guillermo butt in air (probably floating an air biscuit) Bernardo passed out from the odor and the fruity drink my hubby was a chuggin'.  (a lot of our photos involve alcohol somewhere in the photos with the minkees.  I never know if I should post them.  Makes us look like heavy drinkers.)   I just love this pic and have yet to use it.  Thanks to Carrie, I now have a reason!  If you look closely you can see the piercings G-mo has from an earlier post.

Initially I wanted to do a photo of me and the boyz in matching hats, but I had to settle for this number.  I couldn't find Bernardo's hat to post today, so hopefully it will air next week.  The pic of me is rather funny.  Yes ladies and gents, next week will be a rare glimpse of the one the minkees call creator.  Come back to quell your curiosity.

Watch the Doodle Missy!

Today, we are going to share an often unseen moment in our lives. We groom ourselves once our twice a week and take a suds and bubbles, but sometimes you need a little more than our little minkee mitts can handle. That's when Jen gets out this horribly loud apparatus. It is called a lint remover, and it gets rid of all those little pilly things that we get. It is usually pretty tickley and can be fun, sometimes I even toot to see if you can hear it over the motor.

However, she is NOT, I repeat, NOT, allowed to touch the fro (which both of us are trying to grow out) or our doodles/tail. You know what she did today!!! That's right, she went after my doodle!

'Jen, you know the rules, what do you think you were doing. What, it looked like I had a dingle berry. I like berries, whats the problem. Oh, that's what a dingle berry is. Well, I'm a fuzzy monkey, its bound to happen sooner or later!'

Getting Ready to get Lost

We decided we needed to settle down a bit before Lost starts, so we practiced part of the Ashtanga Primary Series.  Bernardo is doing Upavistha Konasana or wide angled seated forward bend.  That is one of Jen's all time favorites.  Brian just rolls his eyes jealously when she plops down the the floor with ease.  Her butt sticks up just like Bernardos too!!  I am doing  hanumanasana or monkey pose!  They named a pose after monkeys!!! OMG that is awesome!!!  Brain has been practicing this one for a while and just two days ago made it on both sides.  It was pretty freaking awesome!!!!  Now, we are just waiting for Lost to start and find out how our cutie pie Kate is doing....  We still hope to run across her in the jungle and cuddle attack her.  She won't know what hit her!!!   Well, we are off to make popcorn and watch the show.  More posts tomorrow...  Monkeys out!

What on Earth???

Yesterday, it was 82 degrees outside.  Today, 59!!!  What is going on with the weather?!?  Did a meteorite hit Earth?  Are we entering the next ice age???  Is Guillermo's vow to quit farting effecting global warming?  What is going on???  What's worse, Jen's been gone for over 10 hours so she can't answer our questions!!!  Too many long hours for her lately!  She needs some good quality minkey time! (Only ten more days of work for her this school year.  Then she is ours for the summer!)  Since we had the whole day to ourselves, we turned on the Weather Channel and saw that a cold front came through.  Good thing, we thought the worst was coming our way!

Now, on to tonight's festivities!  Hell's kitchen is on with our favorite chef Corey!  That cute, cuddly, chef De Jour Corey.  I wonder what she would cook for a festive little minkey like me!!!  I don't know what I'll do if she gets voted off!!!  Guillermo votes her to stay all the way!!!  Corey, Corey, Corey!!!  I have a new mantra...  Where's my mala?

O.K. We're Better...

Jen explained that the thing in the basket was a prototype for the two of us.  She apparently tried out a number of sizes before she came up with the perfect minkey size. Which is good, we are so cute and cuddly this size I can't imagine being THAT BIG!  She apologized several times, she forgot that she hadn't gotten rid of it.  I took it upon myself to destroy it.  So, I  farted on it for good measure, then Bernardo and I tried to rip it to shreds.  However, NO opposable thumbs made that pretty hard, so Jen took the scissors to it and it is now destroyed.  Whew!  Glad that is over.  I was a scared little minkee for a while.  By the way, sorry I farted on your pillows Jen.   You might want to throw the cases in the wash along with your favorite comfy pants.  Sorry, its what minkees do when they are upset.  Love you.....

Suds and Bubbles Day!

Well, its that time of the week my friends.  Our favorite day of the week, suds and bubbles day!!!  Here we are getting ready for our bath.  We don't want to be obscene and show you the actual event because we have to get naked.  While we enjoy being naked, Jen says we don't need to flaunt our bare selves on the internet.  There are enough photos of naked monkeys without the two of us showing ourselves off.

We just want our faithful readers to know that we do take our minkee hygiene very seriously!  No filthy minkees in this household.  Lots of suds and bubbles followed by careful grooming.  We also do our grooming in the other room away from Brian and Jen.  It is our minkee private time when we make ourselves clean and presentable to the public.  After suds and bubbles tonight, we are going to watch some t.v. and then adjourn to our luxury accommodations for the night.  Minkees out!

So, we have been tagged!  Since there are two minkeys and a human who do most of the posting we thought it only appropriate to have six fun filled facts that you may not know about all of us...  We will see if Brian wants to add anything when he gets home, but we'll leave the choice up to him...

 Guillermo.....

1.  If someone says hammertime, I have to do the hammertime dance.  It's kind of like Cartman having to sing the entire song "Come Sail Away" when someone sings a lyric.  It is quite annoying, but minkeys love to dance.

2.  My head had to recreated because I got some of Jen's blush on my nose and it wouldn't come off, even after ten suds and bubbles.  I was too embarrassed to be photographed, so I had Jen make me a new head.

3.  When Jen and Brian are both gone, I fart on their pillows... I am a monkey, don't question or judge!

4.  My favorite chef on Hell's Kitchen is Corey.  I could get pretty cuddly with her if you know what I mean...

5.  My favorite game to play is cute shark.  It is where I crawl around on the ground and chase Jen, Brian and Bernardo while being extremely cute.  Only problem.... My butt wiggles too much!

6.  Gordon Ramsey is my idol,  now "Piss off you stupid donkey!"  (that's what he says, so I can say it too!!!)

Bernardo...

1.   While Jen is at work, I play with her beads........  All of the beads, not this little pile!!!

2.  I may be festive, wear a rainbow scarf and am 'gay', but I am not that 'gay'.  B-man loves the ladies.

 

3.  I am allergic to bananas!  Fortunately, I don't eat them... just wear them!

4.  I would cuddle Kate from Lost like she's never been cuddled before!!!  She is hot!!! Plus, she is traversing the jungle....  guess where I am from... the jungle!  Maybe we can run into one another!!!

5.  My favorite superheros are: Captain Coconauts, Iron Man and Hellboy!  

6.  I left a present in Jen's beads..... If you know what I mean!

Jen...

1. I know for a fact that there is more than one way to skin a cat!  Sorry cat lovers (Carrie) I took Anatomy and Physiology in college and that was a requirement.  I was in a group with three men, I was the only one willing to attempt the skinning.  It was quite interesting to perform it, and there is defiantly more than one way, but I don't want to gross you out too much...

2.  I sang in a back up choir for none other than "The Gambler" at the Mark of the Quad Cities presentation of: A Kenny Roger's Christmas.  Yes ladies and gentlemen I got to meet the gambler himself (he smelled like chicken, weird huh), had my picture taken and sang two songs in a backup choir.  

3.  I was banned from an adult bookstore for three months! They took my photo and posted it!   Always remember kids.... A six foot inflatable penis when hit with your fist, may fall back but comes back up with lightening speed.  If you are curious, click for more details.

4.  I don't like chocolate.  Sorry, just don't like it.  However, you put Skittles or Jelly Beans in front of me and they are gone in seconds.

5.  I make jewelry and malas as a 'side business'.  Malas are Tibetan prayer beads.

6.  I have recently begun and am now addicted to my sinus rinse.  I love to gross out people and give them details about how to use it!  Especially Tom at work!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Since Brian and Jen don't have any kids yet, and technically Jen did create us, we thought it would be nice and write Jen a poem or two for mother's day.  We can be so mischievous and time consuming we also decide to be good little minkeys and give her the day off.  (But not Brian!!!  We may sneak attack him again today!)  Anyway, here is our first poem:

Yoga Minkeys 2

Well, we decided to have some fun and games in Jen's old Yoga mat.  I can see why she doesn't use it anymore, it smells like feet and sweat!  Gross!!!  However being a monkey, G-man is used to smelly and gross!  Maybe Jen will decide to use this mat, let's hide Bernardo!
